Mr Ruurd van Rooijen joins City Garden Clinic

January 2018.

Upon request of Dr ABD Sesay, Mr Ruurd (Rudi) has joined City Garden Clinic as facility manager. He is also asked to assist in some other projects outside City Garden Clinic, like the Child Care Center in Yele.

Mr Rudi is a retired submarine officer and has been active in Sierra Leone since 2009. He started as general manager of Magbenteh Community Hospital and in the recent years he has been facility manager of the hospital in Yele and country director of Lion Heart Foundation.

Mr Rudi received a warm welcome.

Dr Erdi represents Dr ABD and City Garden Clinic in the USA

November 2017.

As Dr ABD was invited to the USA by his friends Steve of 4HIM and Dr Jeff Smith of Foot Print Mission, but was denied a visa, Dr Erdi took his place.

Dr Erdi made several presentations. The first was at a fundraiser/reunion of 4HIM. Many very good and successful projects are supported through 4 HIM in Ghana, India and also in Sierra Leone. Steve and his wife Nancy have been very good to Dr Erdi during her stay with them.

Together with Steve, Erdi also went to a meeting of TECH, an enthusiastic group Christian NGO’s, assisting with various forms of medical equipment. It was great to meet so many wonderful people all serving God and doing their utmost best to show their care to the world. In this meeting Dr Erdi gave a presentation about the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone.

This meeting was followed by a very big conference of so many Christians from all over the USA, all serving or planning to serve God in the area of health care.

Then the trip continued to Michigan where Dr Erdi met with Maggie, Dr Jeff and prof Hulme. They all were very welcoming. Additional people have joined the team of Foot Print Mission and a great new boost has been given to the Child Care Center project. It was good to meet and exchange ideas to make it a successful project.

We hope to return the hospitality to all our friends in the USA, when they will come and visit us in Sierra Leone.

RIP Esther

October 2017.

We were very sad when we lost our colleague on the 23 of October. She has been part of the City Garden Family for long and was a well-appreciated nurse in the Clinic.

Our sympathy and prayers are with her husband and children.

Rest in Peace Esther.

Dr Erdi joins City Garden Clinic

October 2017.

Upon repeated request of Dr ABD, Dr Erdi has joined City Garden Clinic as new medical superintendant. Dr Erdi came to Sierra Leone in 2009, at that time to Magbenteh Community Hospital, where she worked closely together with Dr ABD for 2 years.

Since then she has been working in Yele, Sierra Leone, where she, together with a team of national and international people started up a new hospital successfully. During the Ebola outbreak the hospital continued to provide health care and assisted greatly in the fight to stop the Ebola.

As Dr ABD has been (and will likely continue) to be very busy with politics, he can not give the time and attention to the clinic and patients as needed, therefore he is very happy Dr Erdi has joined City Garden Clinic.

Management and staff of City Garden Clinic have given Dr Erdi a warm welcome.
